Etching
The bookmarks produced by the etching technique were printed by the artist on paper with a 100% content of cotton. The technique of tearing off the edges by hand invests the shape of the bookmark with a quality of exclusiveness. Each bookmark is stamped with a special corrugated brand of “Russian Bookmark”.
Etchings are engravings on metal plates, with relief images created by applying acids to a metal surface. Etching is the most challenging and labour-intensive of all the printmaking methods, but it offers, owing to its wide scope of tones, freedom, subtlety, and grace of hatching, a rich variety of techniques and provides great opportunities to the artists who lean towards a painterly vision of the world.
